Back to School Pep Rally Slated for Downtown Event During F1rst Friday

The Downtown Statesboro Development Authority will kick off their Fall season of F1rst Friday’s with the Downtown Pep Rally on August 5th from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Bulloch County Courthouse.

The event will showcase local marching bands, football teams, and cheerleading squads.

The 2022 Downtown Pep Rally is a public event celebrating local football teams in Bulloch County. Rhan Hutcheson, the Executive Director of the Averitt Center for the Arts, will introduce each of the teams as they take the stage on the Courthouse steps.

Join the community and show some team spirit in celebrating each school. Rhan Hutcheson will interview the coaches and some of the key players to discuss their teams’ upcoming seasons.

This year’s pep rally schedule of appearance is as follows:

  • 6:00 p.m. Portal High School,
  • 6:30 p.m. Bulloch Academy,
  • 7:00 Southeast Bulloch High School, and
  • 7:30 p.m. Statesboro High School.

The proud sponsor of this year’s Downtown Pep Rally event is Statesboro Natural Gas. They will be providing hotdogs and refreshments for the attending teammates. There will also be local vendors on Siebald Street selling food and products to parents and other community members.
