Smith State Prison Fails Health Inspection

Smith State Prison in Glennville recently failed a Food Establishment Inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health. Public records show that health inspectors visited the facility on May 24 for an inspection of the food services area of the prison. DPH awarded SSP with a score of ’68-U,’ meaning ‘unsatisfactory.’ The grade is the lowest score the facility has received in the last eighteen months.
