Police Say Public Information is Critical to Homicide Investigation

Detectives with the Statesboro Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred on Monday evening and they say public information is critical to the ongoing investigation.

The agency says that on April 17, at 7:54 p.m., officers and detectives responded to Cambridge the Pines for shots fired at that location.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 19-year-old Cameron Anderson shot. Anderson was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center where he died from his wounds.

Detectives spent the remainder of the night processing the scene, which extended into the neighboring Cambridge the Palms, and interviewing witnesses.

At this point, they believe that many more witnesses exist within the heavily populated complex. It is critical at this point for these witnes ses to come forward and as s ist in the investigation.
