Fourteen charter schools in Georgia recently received a vote of approval for renewal of their contracts. The State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia (SCSC) Board of Commissioners (Board) voted at the end of February to renew charter contracts for 14 state charter schools. These schools were recommended for renewal following a “rigorous evaluation of each school’s academic, financial, andorganizational performance over the charter term,” as measured by the SCSC Comprehensive Performance Framework. At the request of the East Point Police Department, GBI agents are investigating an officer involved shooting that happened on Saturday in East Point, Georgia.
