Richmond Hill woman killed in multi-vehicle crash in Bloomingdale

A woman was killed after a multi-vehicle crash in Bloomindale Thursday.

Deputies responded to the crash on Highway 80 near the intersection of Highway 17 in Bloomingdale just after 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

Preliminary information from the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit indicates five vehicles were involved, four commercial vehicles and one sedan. Deputies with the Traffic Unit began investigating and determined that four of the involved vehicles were stopped at a traffic light when a fully loaded concrete truck struck the rear of the small sedan, causing a chain reaction of collisions.

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Carly Holubik of Richmond Hill.

This investigation is ongoing.
