Two 17-year-olds were arrested by the Statesboro Police Department in connection with an entering auto incident in Cottage Row.
Jonathan Luther Jones and Anthony Garvin, both 17-years-old and residents of Statesboro, were arrested on April 14 with Entering Automobile with Intent to Commit Theft or Felony.
According to warrants obtained by the Statesboro Police Department, Jones and Garvin were charged with entering an automobile in Cottage Row on Highway 67 in Statesboro. The pair reportedly stole a black Nike bookbag and an Apple iPad.
They were booked at the Bulloch County Jail on April 14, and, according to the arrest report, were released on bond set by the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office.
The charge, which is a felony offense, carries a sentence of one to five years in prison, though a judge does have the discretion to sentence the offense as a misdemeanor.
The Statesboro Police Department has been pushing a Crime Prevention campaign in recent weeks, encouraging people to start a ‘9PM Lockup Routine,’ in which they lock car doors, windows, and house doors.
