Georgia’s Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner says he is “delivering millions in savings for Georgia drivers” thanks to a rate reduction filed by Allstate North American Insurance Company.

The filing includes a 5% reduction in private passenger auto insurance rates and will affect tens of thousands of Georgia drivers. As a result, the Allstate rate decrease is projected to generate approximately $17.7 million in total savings for Georgia policyholders in 2026.
“These savings reflect the positive direction of Georgia’s insurance market and the continued emphasis on affordability,” said Commissioner King. “Our focus remains on promoting a competitive and consumer-first marketplace, and today’s reduction provides further confirmation that our approach is working for Georgians.”
The filing submitted in early February applies to Allstate’s private passenger auto insurance policies statewide. The reduction builds upon ongoing regulatory initiatives led by Commissioner King and the Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire that prioritize affordability, transparency, and consumer protection.
These savings come as the Insurance Commissioner’s office continues its statewide efforts to combat insurance fraud and abuse. The 5% reduction from Allstate is part of a broader trend, with other major companies like State Farm, Liberty Mutual, and Safeco also announcing rate decreases. These reductions mark an important step toward long-term market stability and improved affordability for Georgia families.
“Outcomes like this are made possible through close coordination between our office and state leadership,” Commissioner King added. “By maintaining an environment centered on accountability and clarity, we are helping create conditions where we can negotiate with insurance companies to responsibly reduce rates and expand affordable coverage options.”
King is running for re-election this year.
