Former State Senator John F. Kennedy has earned the endorsement of members of the Georgia General Assembly Farm Caucus, adding support from a coalition of lawmakers focused on protecting and promoting the state’s agricultural industry.
The endorsement comes from legislators who serve in the bipartisan caucus, a group dedicated to advancing policies that support farmers, preserve agricultural land, and strengthen Georgia’s rural economy. Agriculture remains Georgia’s largest industry, generating billions of dollars annually and serving as a key economic driver across much of the state.
Lawmakers backing Kennedy include State Representatives Jaclyn Ford, Jutt Howard, Angie O’Steen, Steven Meeks, Russ Goodman, Drew Echols, Lee Anderson, Sam Watson, John Corbett, Robert Dickey, and David Huddleston.
Kennedy, who is seeking election as Georgia’s next lieutenant governor, said the endorsement reflects a shared commitment to the state’s agricultural communities and rural values.
“I am honored to have the support of the entire Georgia Farm Caucus,” Kennedy said in a statement. “I’m deeply grateful for the trust each of these respected leaders have placed in me. Growing up in the small town of Adrian, I learned the values that define rural Georgia, and those same values continue to guide me every day. As your next lieutenant governor, I will always fight for Georgia’s number one industry and the hardworking people who make it possible.”
The endorsement provides another boost for Kennedy’s statewide campaign, highlighting his support among lawmakers representing many of Georgia’s agricultural regions. Farm policy, rural economic development, and protecting the interests of Georgia producers are expected to remain prominent issues as statewide candidates continue to build support ahead of the election.
The Georgia General Assembly Farm Caucus regularly advocates for legislation affecting agriculture, forestry, land conservation, and rural communities, working to ensure the state’s farming industry remains competitive and sustainable for future generations.
