Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J. Harper has announced the launch of “Meet Me at the Market,” a new statewide initiative designed to highlight the role farmers markets play in supporting Georgia agriculture and strengthening local communities.
The campaign, led by the Georgia Department of Agriculture through its Georgia Grown program, aims to unify and elevate farmers markets across the state while increasing awareness of the economic and community benefits they provide.
“We’re excited to launch our 2026 Georgia Grown Farmers Market campaign, ‘Meet Me at the Market,’ highlighting Georgia Grown certified farmers markets in every corner of our state,” Commissioner Harper said. “With fresh produce like iconic Georgia peaches and world-famous Vidalia onions in season now, there’s no better time for Georgians to visit their local farmers market and support local agriculture.”
The initiative will showcase Georgia’s extensive network of farmers markets through coordinated marketing efforts, including Georgia Grown signage, social media promotions, special “Market Days,” and communications support for participating markets. Organizers say the campaign is intended to spotlight the unique offerings available at individual markets while encouraging consumers to shop locally and support Georgia farmers.
Agriculture remains Georgia’s leading industry, contributing billions of dollars annually to the state’s economy. Farmers markets serve as a direct connection between producers and consumers, providing opportunities for growers to sell locally while giving residents access to fresh, seasonal products.
As part of the campaign, ten farmers markets from across Georgia have been selected as 2026 Spotlight Markets. These featured markets will receive additional promotional support through the Georgia Grown program.
Consumers interested in locating a farmers market can browse the statewide directory at gagrownfarmersmarkets.com. Market operators who wish to be included in the directory must submit a completed Georgia Grown Farmers Market Registration Form.
The “Meet Me at the Market” campaign officially launches as many of Georgia’s most recognizable crops, including peaches and Vidalia onions, are reaching peak season, offering residents an opportunity to support local agriculture while purchasing fresh, Georgia-grown products.
