Rodheem Greene became a POST-certified law enforcement in officer in December 2019 and was hired by Savannah Police Department in January 2020.
He was fired from Savannah PD in May 2021 for policy violations related to untruthfulness, turning off his body camera, and going AWOL while on shift.
His POST record shows he was also employed by Stillmore PD (population 460) in Emanuel County, but resigned while under POST investigation.
POST recommended revoking Greene’s certification in 2024, but he sought legal counsel and challenged it. In January 2025, POST opted to take no action against him. On Feb 3, 2025, Coleman hired him at the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.

Greene’s Issues at Chatham County Sheriff’s Office
In spring of 2026, Greene was placed on leave after a supervisor located evidence bags, traffic citations, and even drug testing kits from older arrests in his patrol car. He had traveled to Atlanta and other places with all of the evidence, which effectively compromised a number of cases.
Reportedly, the K9 assigned to him was also taken from him for a period of time after the K9 cage in the patrol car was discovered to be covered in blood from ‘Happy Tail.’ The condition is common, but leaving the vehicle uncleaned after an ongoing bout of Happy Tail is not. The vehicle had to be deep cleaned and heavily detailed by professionals.
In June 2026, Greene was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for making 100 DUI arrests in 2025, though none of them are recorded in court, nor have they been adjudicated. The numbers justifying the award by MADD are provided to MADD by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.
