DAS North America Donates $1,000 to OTC Foundation

DAS North America representatives presented a $1,000 check to the Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) Foundation on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at DAS North America’s Metter facility.

Jan Moore, OTC Vice President for Economic Development, and Larry Mays, Vice President for College Advancement, accepted the check on behalf of the College. DAS North America is one of the newest partners with OTC’s Georgia Training Center for Industrial Operations (GTCIO).

“Throughout this process of becoming a global company, we have placed great importance on achieving sustainable growth while earning the trust of the local community to grow together,” said DAS Vice Chairman Lee Dong-hyung.

“DAS North America has received a great deal of help and support from the local community as we have put down roots and grown here. I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude.”

“We’re excited about our new partnership with DAS North America,” Moore said. “They’re a vital supplier in this area, and we’re here to work with them to help them achieve their goals.”

Moore said that DAS North America has much to gain from a partnership with OTC because GTCIO industry partners have access to the center’s students and specialized training for their employees, and they help steer its industrial operations curriculum.

The Hospital Authority of Candler County and Metter College and Career Academy also received donations at the event.

“We strive to be a company that grows alongside the local community and helps shape the future together,” Lee said. “Our collaboration today with Candler County Hospital, Metter High School College and Career Academy, and Ogeechee Technical College marks the first step in putting this vision into action.”

DAS North America’s Metter facility supplies automotive seat frames, seat structures, and related components for Hyundai and Kia vehicles.

This is a press release from Ogeechee Technical College.
