Narrative

On March 25th, 2026 at approximately 7:15am, I conducted a PHONE report with Randy Monton regarding an attempted theft at his former residence located at 22731 Georgia Highway 46. Monton stated he and his wife had fully moved out of the property approximately one to one and a half weeks prior and were preparing the house for sale. He explained landscapers had recently performed work on the property, which may have indicated to the community that the residence was vacant. Monton stated the property still had active security cameras installed around the house. At approximately 6:12 am on March 25th, 2026, the security cameras captured an unknown white male walking onto the property. The male was spotted wearing all black clothing and holding a shovel. Monton provided the following account of the incident: The male appeared to survey the garden beds around the perimeter of the house, looking for items of value. When the male crossed the motion sensor, exterior lights activated and recording began. The male ran across the carport to the opposite corner. Monton believed the male targeted a Japanese maple tree. Monton stated he immediately accessed the live camera view to confirm the individual was not part of the landscaping crew scheduled to arrive the following morning. He contacted the landscaping company owner, who confirmed no crew members were at the property and would not arrive that early. Monton then used the camera's audio feature to address the male, instructing him to make himself known and approach the camera. The male appeared to continue attempting to access the plant before fleeing the property. Monton called his neighbor Ian, who resides across the street, to check the property. Ian confirmed the soil around the Japanese maple appeared disturbed, indicating an attempted theft. Monton stated he shared the video footage with Matt Wise, owner of Wise Nurseries on Hood Loop, to determine if the male could be identified within the local landscaping community. Monton described the suspect as a middle-aged or older white male who appeared familiar with the targeted plant. I acknowledge this report was generated using Draft One by Axon. I further acknowledge that I have reviewed the report in detail, made any necessary edits, and believe it to be an accurate representation of my recollection of the reported events. If needed, I am willing to testify to the accuracy of this report.

In 2013, a new law took effect in Georgia prohibiting commercial sites from charging fees to remove inaccurate mug shots. The law also barred law enforcement agencies from releasing mug shots to sites that charge a fee. As a result of the changes, a photo may be removed in some instances. To read the exemptions or to request removal from The Georgia Virtue, visit the ‘Contact‘ tab. Please read the full explanation before submitting a request for removal.
