STATESBORO, GA (July 9, 2025) — A targeted operation by the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Team (CST), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, resulted in the arrest of two individuals accused of bringing large quantities of fentanyl into Bulloch County.
Surveillance and Traffic Stops Lead to Seizure of Fentanyl
On July 8, CST investigators together with Homeland Security agents conducted covert surveillance at the Statesboro Crossing shopping center on Henry Boulevard. They tracked 30-year-old Tiffany Brooke Brantley of Metter meeting with 28-year-old Angel Rodriguez-Rodriguez, an undocumented immigrant suspected of supplying the narcotics.
After both vehicles departed the busy retail complex, the BCSO K9 Unit, Criminal Investigations Division, and uniformed deputies carried out coordinated traffic stops at a safe distance from the shopping center to protect bystanders. Officers searched each vehicle and recovered trafficking amounts of fentanyl along with a substantial sum of U.S. currency from Rodriguez-Rodriguez’s car.
BCSO leadership noted that ensuring community safety while securing evidence was a top priority and expressed gratitude for the professionalism displayed by CST members and federal partners.
