Two people have been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred Thursday.
Statesboro Police Officers responded to Market 100 Apartments on Bermuda Run Road in around 11:30 p.m. on March 6. The call was for a reported stabbing.
Officers located the adult female victim and rendered aid to her until she could be transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The injuries were non-life threatening.
Officers identified several persons residing in the involved apartment and transported them to the Statesboro Police Department for interviews. Detectives conducted these interviews and obtained a search warrant for the apartment.
At the conclusion of these efforts, 18-year-old Precious Mincey was arrested for Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Knife during the Commission of a Felony. A 16-year-old female juvenile was also arrested and charged with being a Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault as well as being wanted by the Department of Juvenile Justice in Hinesville, Ga. The juvenile was transported to the Savannah Regional Youth Detention Center.
The stabbing stemmed from a personal dispute between the parties. None of the participants appear to have been enrolled at Georgia Southern University.
