Local elected officials were required to file non-election year campaign finance reports for the period beginning January 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2025. Reports were due July 7, 2025.
TheGeorgiaVirtue.com requested these documents on July 16, 2025 under the Georgia Open Records Act. They were provided by the Bulloch County Elections Office on July 28, 2025.
Some candidates filed paperwork during their most recent election cycle indicating they did not intend to exceed $2,500 in expenditures or contributions and, therefore, are not required to file the ongoing campaign finance disclosure paperwork. Those candidates are indicated with the notation of “no report required if $2,500 financial threshold not met.”

Sumner provided an affidavit for exemption (for no contributions or expenditures over $2,500) which was filed on 1/6/25. This document, while notarized and submitted, was not provided to TGV by the Bulloch County Elections office as part of the Open Records Request.
