Williams Indicted In Animal Cruelty Case

This is a press release from the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office

The Ogeechee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office announces that on October 1, 2025, the animal cruelty case involving Kelly Williams was presented before a Bulloch County Grand Jury. Williams was accused of killing his ex-girlfriend’s dog in late September of 2025.

After hearing the evidence, the Grand Jury returned a true bill of indictment on all three counts:

  • Count 1: Aggravated Cruelty to Animals (Felony)

  • Count 2: Burglary in the First Degree (Felony)
  • Count 3: Unlawful Disposition of a Dead Animal (Misdemeanor)

At a prior bond hearing in September, Judge Thompson denied bond, citing the seriousness of the allegations and the potential risk to the public. With the indictment returned, the case will now proceed in Bulloch County Superior Court.

On the same day, the Grand Jury also returned a true bill in a separate, earlier case involving Williams. In that case, he was indicted for Making False Statements (Felony) and False Report of a Crime (Misdemeanor).

The District Attorney’s Office remains fully committed to pursuing justice in this matter. Because proceedings are now in active litigation, we will not be commenting further at this time to protect the integrity of the case.
