The Reidsville Police Department arrested a Tattnall County man Sunday after an incident with ‘Predator Poachers’ at a local church.
According to a press release issued by Chief Matthew Lynn on Monday, Reidsville Police responded to the Reidsville Church of God Sunday in reference to an individual requesting to speak to a police officer.
“Upon arrival, officers made contact with one male caller, who identified himself as a member of the group known as Predator Poachers. The individual advised that he had been posing as a minor female while communicating online with a man residing in Reidsville.”
But what happened before the arrival of police was captured on video and streamed live to Facebook Sunday morning. The video begins in a vehicle traveling to Reidsville Church of God where a member of the Predator Poachers group plays an audio recording of a man stating ‘I don’t mind you being thirteen.’ Upon parking, the man states he’s looking for Jerry and asks him to step aside in the parking lot to discuss the girl Jerry has been talking to.
Davis proceeds to state that the girl he was talking to was thirteen, that he met her on TikTok, and they were supposed to meet up to ‘hook up.’ Davis then said ‘hook up’ meant they were going to go to church, but shortly after admitted he had sent a picture of his genitals to the user he believed to be a thirteen-year-old. After that, he clarifies it was an image he found online before he is confronted with the specifics of the sexual conversation he engaged in with the user.
The Predator Poacher continued to engage in conversation with Davis about his other conversations with minors, including apps he utilizes to communicate and the context in which they talk. Davis then admitted to watching videos involving minors and animals, one of which was on his phone.
After nearly thirty minutes of conversation with Davis, Reidsville Police arrive on scene and begin interviewing both the Predator Poachers member and Davis. Predator Poachers provides a cell phone with messages, including one from Davis that reads “I wanna r*pe* you” to the user Davis believed to be a minor, and tells the police officer they will provide the recordings to law enforcement.
Ultimately, 57-year-old Jerry Walter Davis was arrested with one count of Sexual Exploitation of Children and one count of Computer or Electronic Pornography and Child Exploitation. Both charges are felony offenses.
Davis was transported to the Tattnall County Jail and is awaiting further court action in Tattnall County Superior Court.
As of 3:00 p.m. Monday, the Predator Poacher video had 100,000 views.
