New Executive Director of Georgia Correctional Industries

The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Janine Robinson from Director of the Administrative Support Unit to Executive Director of Georgia Correctional Industries (GCI), effective November 1, 2025. As Executive Director, she is responsible for business processes, sales and marketing, and administrative support for GCI operations covering manufacturing, food service and agribusiness.

“Janine bring a vast array of correctional knowledge and experience driving the mission of GCI,” said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver.” Under her leadership, we look forward to seeing continued innovation and growth across GCI’s diverse operations.”

Robinson began her career in 2007 with the Department of Corrections as a Probation Officer and has since held a variety of leadership and program management roles. Her experience includes serving as Assistant Chief, Sex Offender Administration Program Development Consultant, Reentry Field Services Manager, Community Reentry Manager with the Department of Community Supervision, and Prison Industry Enhancement Coordinator with GCI. In 2020, she was promoted to Director of the Administrative Support Unit within the Administration and Finance Division, where she was responsible for the oversight of Fleet Operations, the Automotive Academy, Statewide Call Center and Risk Management Programs. She served in this role until her most recent promotion.

Robinson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Georgia. Her departmental training consists of Basic Management Training, Advanced Management Training, Warden’s Pre-Command, Chief Probation Officer Pre-Command, Basic Probation Officer Training, and Law Enforcement Crisis Intervention Team certification. She is POST certified and is a POST-Certified Instructor.
