Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John King issued yet another press release on insurance rate reductions, a measure he says is “delivering meaningful savings for thousands of policyholders” across the state.

This is the fourth insurance rate reduction announcement made by King in recent months as consumers in Georgia continue to see their own rates rise.

King said the most recent rate reductions are for three Country Mutual Insurance affiliates operating in Georgia. Previous announcements have related to State Farm, Liberty Mutual, Safeco, and Allstate North American Insurance Company.

From the press release:

The approved filings reflect an overall 6% average indicated reduction across three Country Mutual auto affiliates. In total, the filings represent approximately $7.52 million in premium savings and will affect tens of thousands Georgia policyholders.

“These consistent reductions continue to prove the case that Georgia’s insurance market is becoming more and more competitive and responsive to consumers,” said Commissioner King. “Our office is always focused on fostering a regulatory environment that promotes transparency, stability, and affordability for Georgia families.”

These approved reductions are an indicator of continued progress in strengthening Georgia’s insurance environment. As market conditions improve and confidence grows among carriers operating in the state, companies are increasingly able to adjust pricing in ways that provide direct relief to policyholders while maintaining long-term stability.

“A stable insurance market doesn’t happen by accident,” said Commissioner King. “It requires careful oversight, responsible reforms, and a commitment to consumers, and that’s exactly what we are delivering in Georgia.”
