Kennedy Earns Endorsement of Former Opponent in Lieutenant Governor Race

A former opponent has endorsed John F. Kennedy in the Lt. Governor’s race against Greg Dolezal.

State Representative David Clark, a decorated U.S. Army Green Beret and former candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia, endorsed Kennedy this week.

“As a Green Beret, I learned the hard way that when you are in the fight, the only thing that matters is who you can trust standing next to you,” said Rep. David Clark. “John F. Kennedy is that kind of leader. After serving with John in the General Assembly for over a decade, I have watched him deliver real conservative results for Georgia time and time again – never caring who got the credit or making promises he wouldn’t keep. He just cared about getting it done for Georgia families. John is a true conservative and a proven fighter, and that is exactly the leader Georgia needs as our next Lieutenant Governor.”

“David Clark is a true Georgia patriot,” said John F. Kennedy. “He served our country with distinction as a Green Beret and combat veteran, and has spent the past decade in the Georgia House fighting for the values that make our state the best place in the country to live, work, and raise a family. I am incredibly grateful for his support and for the principled, issues-focused campaign he ran. David never lost sight of the challenges hardworking Georgians face every day, and he deserves enormous credit for putting those issues at the center of this race. I am honored to have him in this fight with us as we work to earn every vote.”

Georgia Republicans will return to the polls June 16 to decide one of the state’s most closely watched runoff elections. The winner will advance to the November general election to compete for the seat being vacated by current Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, who opted to pursue the governor’s office rather than seek reelection. Democrats will also pick their top choice for the Lt. Governor’s race. Senator Josh McLaurin and former Senator Nabilah Parkes will appear on the Democratic ballot.
