STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern Athletics Department announced Thursday the addition and a change to its future football schedules.
The Eagles will travel to Jordan-Hare Stadium to take on the Tigers of Auburn to open the 2028 season and will now host Charleston Southern to open the 2026 season.
Georgia Southern and Auburn will meet for the third time when the Eagles travel to the Yellowhammer State on Sept. 2, 2028. It will be the 17th game for the Eagles against a current member of the Southeastern Conference.
Charleston Southern moves into the season opener for next year, to be played on Sept. 5 in Allen E. Paulson Stadium. It will be the first meeting between Georgia Southern and CSU.
This is how the announced non-conference slate stacks up for next year:
Sept. 5 – Charleston Southern (Paulson)
Sept. 12 – at Clemson (Clemson, S.C.)
Sept. 19 – at Jacksonville State (Jacksonville, Ala.)
Sept. 26 – Houston (Paulson)
