Ossoff Says He’s “Working to Crack Down on Surveillance Pricing to Lower Grocery Prices”

U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff says he is “working to crack down on surveillance pricing to lower grocery prices.”

Ossoff announced last week that he is cosponsoring the Stop Price Gouging in Grocery Stores Act of 2026 to stop big corporations from taking advantage of consumers by unfairly overcharging for groceries.

The bill, first introduced by Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-NM), would prohibit the use of surveillance-based price setting practices, where corporations use a person’s precise location, browser history, or surveillance to charge people different prices for the same goods and services.

“Georgia families are paying too much for groceries. This bill will crack down on corporate price gouging to lower costs for Georgia families,” Sen. Ossoff said in a news release.
