Narrative

On June 30, 2026, I, Sgt. K. Kelley, took a report in reference to a suspicious incident. Upon making contact with the complainant, Maurice Johnson, he stated that he has been paying his child support by sending money orders to his ex-wife. Mr. Johnson explained that his ex-wife, Ms. Johnson, claimed that she had not received three payments from him and demanded the money. He assured me that he did send the money orders and has the receipts to prove that he purchased them. Additionally, he has evidence that the funds were deposited into Ms. Johnson's bank account. Mr. Johnson requested that a report be filed so that the money order company can initiate an investigation into the whereabouts of the funds, including details on who received them and to which account they were deposited.

In 2013, a new law took effect in Georgia prohibiting commercial sites from charging fees to remove inaccurate mug shots. The law also barred law enforcement agencies from releasing mug shots to sites that charge a fee. As a result of the changes, a photo may be removed in some instances.
