Bulloch County Jail Booking & Incident Report – July 28, 2026

Observed vehicle speeding 74 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Driver displayed signs of impairment, admitted to drinking, and refused the requested blood test. Arrested for DUI (Less Safe), Driving While License Suspended, Speeding, and Open Container. Vehicle towed by Bruce's Towing; driver transported to BCSO without incident.

On 7/26/2026 I met with the complainant regarding fraudulent activity on their Financial Transaction Card.

On July 26, 2026, at approximately 1325 hours, deputies were dispatched to 30 Cedarwood Drive, Statesboro, Georgia, in reference to a reported assault. Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant/victim, Anna Rodriguez. Due to a language barrier, communication was facilitated using a translator. Rodriguez advised that at approximately 0300 hours, while in Candler County near the City of Metter and/or within the City of Metter, she and her husband, Fernando Morales, became involved in a verbal altercation. Rodriguez stated Morales was extremely intoxicated and repeatedly attempted to persuade her to get into a vehicle with him so they could drive home. Rodriguez advised she refused multiple times. Rodriguez stated Morales then intentionally headbutted her in the forehead. I observed a swollen area on the center of her forehead measuring approximately three inches in diameter and approximately one inch raised, consistent with her account of the incident. Because the reported assault occurred in Candler County, Rodriguez was advised to report to the appropriate law enforcement agency with jurisdiction to file a criminal complaint. Candler County Sheriff's Office was notified of the incident and provided this agency's case report number for reference. They advised they may conduct a follow-up investigation. While on scene, deputies contacted Safe Haven on Rodriguez's behalf. Safe Haven arranged emergency shelter accommodations, and Rodriguez advised her sister would transport her to the shelter. Rodriguez did not advise whether any children were present during the incident. Returned to patrol.

On July 27, 2026, I, SGT. K. Kelley, took a lobby report regarding a suspicious incident. Upon making contact with the complainant, Laurie Jewell, she stated that she received a message from her ex-boyfriend, Donald Lindsey, with whom she has had previous problems and has had removed from her home by the Sheriff's Office. Ms. Jewell mentioned that Mr. Lindsey claimed to have seen her that day and stated that he missed her. However, Ms. Jewell clarified that there was no way Mr. Lindsey could have seen her, as she had not left her home at all that day. Ms. Jewell reported that after blocking the number from which Mr. Lindsey had texted her, she received a threatening message from an unknown number. She believes this might be Mr. Lindsey and expressed her desire to file a report so she could pursue a temporary protective order (TPO) against him.

On 07-27-2026, I Sgt. Weyer took a report at the Bulloch County Annex regarding the replacement of a lost trailer tag. The complainant, Stephen Kangeter informed me that he lost his trailer tag, TY76F92 and that he could not locate it. Mr. Kangeter mentioned he needed this report in order to get a new trailer tag from the tag office.

On 07-27-2026, I Sgt. Weyer took a report at the Bulloch County Annex regarding the replacement of a lost semi truck tag. The complainant, Anna McNeely Bailey informed me that a semi truck tag,C7827A had been lost and that it could not be located. Mrs. Bailey mentioned she needed this report in order to get a new semi tag.

THEFT BY RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY - FELONY16-8-7 FELONY FIREARMS: POSSESSION BY A MINOR16-11-132 MARIJUANA-POSSESS LESS THAN 1 OZ.16-13-2(B) On the reported date, Deputies conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, probable cause to search the vehicle was developed. During a probable cause search, a stolen firearm and marijuana were recovered. Two juveniles were arrested.
