THEFT BY TAKING - FELONY16-8-2(B) On June 12th, 2026 at approximately 3:15 PM, I responded to the listed location regarding a reported theft of a leather MCM stark large brown book bag containing $3,000 cash. After a brief investigation, the incident was documented and forwarded to CID.

On 06/13/2026, I, Deputy Brooks, discovered that a vehicle may have been entered without the owner's knowledge or permission while patrolling the area and looking for suspects involved in the theft of a bicycle. I made contact with the owner, who informed me that her vehicle had been searched and that a twenty- dollar bill was missing.

On June 13th, 2026 at approximately 1531 hours, I responded to a retail theft incident at Sunset Novelties in Statesboro. Upon arrival, I made contact with the store manager, Lacey Smith, and the suspect, Ashlyn Ackerman. After a brief investigation, Ackerman was arested for shoplifting and given a verbal trespass warning at the request of the owner. A trespass form was completed along with the report. The item, a Lush 4 personal massager, was returned to the owner.

THEFT BY TAKING - MISDEMEANOR16-8-2(A) On 06/13/2026, I, Deputy Brooks, responded to 1502 Riggs Mill Court in reference to a theft by taking of a cell phone from the residence. The complainant stated that his ex-girlfriend, who resides with him, became upset after he confronted her about damaging his steam vacuum by putting oil in it. The complainant stated that as she was leaving the residence, she took his cell phone without permission.

THEFT BY DECEPTION - MISDEMEANOR16-8-3 (MISD) On 06/13/2026, I, Deputy Brooks, responded to 1711 Sunnyview Court regarding a Theft by Deception (Fraud) complaint. The complainant reported that an individual claiming to be affiliated with Candler County contacted him and requested bail money for his son, who had been arrested earlier that day. Believing the request to be legitimate, the complainant sent the individual $500 before realizing it was a scam when additional money was requested.

On 06/14/2026 I responded to the listed location where I met with the complainant regarding threats received.
