Bulloch County Jail Booking & Incident Report – May 5, 2026

THEFT BY TAKING- MOTOR VEHICLE16-8-2 (MV) THEFT BY TAKING - FIREARM16-8-2(6)(A) On 05/03/2026 at approximately 1011 hours, deputies responded to Cottontail Lane in reference to two vehicles stolen from a residential driveway, last seen at approximately 2330 hours. A Ring camera snapshot showed two unknown individuals arriving in a dark-colored sedan at approximately 0417 hours; both vehicles, which were left unlocked with keys inside, were taken and fled in an unknown direction. Both vehicles and two firearms inside one vehicle were entered as stolen, and the investigation is ongoing.

THEFT BY TAKING - MISDEMEANOR16-8-2(A) On May 3, 2026, at approximately 10:24 AM, I responded to 904 Pointer Road in reference to an entering auto complaint.

HIT AND RUN; DUTY OF DRIVER TO STOP AT OR40-6-270 DAMAGE TO PROPERTYUNASSIGNED On 05/03/2026, I, Deputy Brooks, responded to 105 Broadmoor Court in reference to a damage-to-property report. The damage consisted of a concrete pylon that was run over by a vehicle and ripped from the ground. Additionally, the front yard showed tire tracks, which caused damage to that area. The individual(s) involved did not stop and left the scene without providing information to the homeowner or notifying law enforcement. The damage was discovered by a neighbor, who then informed the resident.

On 05/03/2026 at approximately 1315 hours, deputies responded to Broadmoor Court where video showed two individuals exiting a suspicious SUV consistent with a stolen vehicle and attempting to access a locked vehicle. One subject checked the door handle but did not gain entry, and no damage was observed before fleeing the scene. The incident is consistent with a nearby motor vehicle theft, and the investigation is ongoing.

On 05/03/2026 at approximately 1350 hours, additional residents on Broadmoor Court reported attempted entry to a secured 2023 Ford F-150, with witnesses observing two individuals checking door handles. A vehicle consistent with a stolen Lincoln Navigator was observed in the area during the same timeframe. The activity is consistent with the earlier vehicle theft, and the investigation remains ongoing.

On May 3rd, 2026 at approximately 3:21pm, I responded to the BP Gas Station at the listed location to speak with owner Vinod Jetwani in reference to a theft. Jetwani stated that Marissa Mallicote got off the Greyhound bus and entered the store, taking several items without paying in the process. Jetwani allowed Mallicote to return to the store and pay the balance remaining for the stolen items. Mallicote was only given a verbal trespass warning at the request of Jetwani.

THEFT BY TAKING- MOTOR VEHICLE16-8-2 (MV) ON 05-04-2026 I RESPONDED TO THE ABOVE LOCATION FOR A STOLEN VEHICLE REPORT.

On 05/4/2026 at approximately 0716 hours, I responded to 1769 Brook Run Drive in reference to a runaway juvenile, where the caregiver advised the juvenile had left the residence overnight and has a history of running away. Attempts to locate the juvenile, including follow-up at Statesboro High School and reviewing a resident’s phone with consent, were unsuccessful, and a BOLO was issued to surrounding deputies. On 05/04/2026 at approximately 17:08 the juvenile was located and arrested due to an active warrant for a runaway juvenile. The arrested juvenile was then transported to Claxton RYDC. ON 05/04/2026 AROUND 11:08 AM I WAS ADVISED BY OFFICE STAFF THAT THERE WAS A FEMALE IN THE LOBBY WITH ACTIVE WARRANTS. I ENTERED THE LOBBY AND MADE CONTACT WITH A WHITE FEMALE LATER IDENTIFIED AS LAURA BARNES. AFTER CONFIRMING THAT TWO WARRANTS FOR FINANCIAL TRANSACTION CARD FRAUD WERE ACTIVE, I PLACE MS BARNES UNDER ARREST. MS BARNES FATHER WAS IN THE LOBBY ANS SHE ASKED THAT I EXPLAIN TO HIM THAT SHE WAS UNDER ARREST. MS BARNES ASKED THAT I GIVE HER FATHER SOME OF HER PERSONAL PROPERTY TO KEEP FOR HER. MS BARNES REMOVED HER JEWELRY AND ASKED THE I GIVE IT TO HER FATHER ALONG WITH 2 VAPES, A CONTAINER WITH HER SERVICE DOGS ASHES, AN A PINK CONTAINER WITH A ZIPPER TOP. I GAVE MS BARNES THE PROPERTY AND ESCORTED HER TO INTAKE FOR PROCESSING. I COMPLETED AN ARREST/BOOKING SHEET AND TURNED MS BARNES OVER TO JAIL STAFF FOR PROCESSING.

On May 4, 2026, I responded to 201B Freightliner Way regarding a suspicious incident.

On 05/04/2026, at approximately 23:56 hours, I responded to 203 Skye View Ct Apartment B in reference to an entering auto incident.

On 05/05/2026 at approximately 03:34 hours, I conducted a field contact with a suspicious vehicle at the Bulloch County Recycling Center at the intersection of Pretoria Rushing Road and Rushing Road.

On 5/4/2026 I took a report at the listed location.
