Narrative

HIT AND RUN; DUTY OF DRIVER TO STOP AT OR40-6-270 DAMAGE TO PROPERTYUNASSIGNED On 09/15/2026, I responded to Carrington Drive in reference to a reported missing stop sign. Upon arrival, I observed skid marks leading from the roadway toward the grassy area near Highway 67. I also observed that the stop sign had been knocked down and damaged. Based on the skid marks and damage to the stop sign, it appeared that an unknown vehicle had left the roadway and struck the sign. The involved vehicle was no longer on scene, and the collision had not been reported. I notified dispatch and requested that Bulloch Correctional be contacted to respond and repair or replace the damaged stop sign. At the time of this report, no identifying information for the involved vehicle or driver was available. Due to the lack of investigative leads and other solvability factors, the case was closed. This report was completed for documentation purposes. This concluded my involvement.

In 2013, a new law took effect in Georgia prohibiting commercial sites from charging fees to remove inaccurate mug shots. The law also barred law enforcement agencies from releasing mug shots to sites that charge a fee. As a result of the changes, a photo may be removed in some instances.
