One Dead, One in Custody After ‘Disturbance’ in Register

The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Thursday night after locating a deceased male inside a home in Register.

The Office said Friday morning that deputies were called to a disturbance in Register just before 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 16. Upon responding to the 911 call, deputies made contact with Anthony Carrasco.

Further investigation revealed a deceased male at Carrasco’s residence on Church Street in Register. The Sheriff’s Office said the deceased male appeared to have been “severely beaten.”

Investigators arrived at the scene and determined that a homicide had occurred.

Carrasco was taken into custody and, at this time, investigators believe Carrasco is responsible for the death. He will remain at the Bulloch County Jail until further court action.

In the mean time, the investigation continues.

The next of kin of the victim has not yet been notified, so a name will not be released until that point.

Investigator Pre Cone is the lead investigator in this case. Anyone having
additional information about this case is asked to call 912-764-1744.
