The Statesboro Police Department is investigating a shooting which left a 17-year-old dead.
The agency says officers were dispatched to a residence on Ladd Circle around 8:40 p.m. on August 20, 2023. The call was for a male who had been shot. Authorities later identified that male as 17-year-old Jabari Walker of Ladd Circle in Statesboro.
The victim was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center where he died of his injuries.
Detectives are still working the investigation, but say the incident does not appear to be random.
