Sylvania Man Arrested on Host of Charges in Bulloch County

A Sylvania man was recently arrested in Bulloch County on a host of charges.

On February 21, K9 deputies and Crime Suppression Team Investigators conducted a traffic stop in Statesboro, GA on a vehicle being operated by Richard Adams of Sylvania, GA for a traffic offense. An investigation began and revealed that Adams possessed numerous unlawful weapons along with tools for the unlawful entry and theft of motor vehicles.

Adams was also found to be in possession of a distribution amount of cocaine.

As the investigation continued, investigators found evidence of Adams committing motor vehicle thefts in numerous other jurisdictions. BCSO is working with investigators at those agencies to assist with their motor vehicle theft investigations.

Adams was arrested and taken to the Bulloch County Jail. Adams was charged with the following offenses:

  • Criminal Use of an Article with Altered ID Mark
  • Possession of Tools for Commission of a Crime
  • Cocaine – Possession with Intent
  • Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects
  • Theft by Receiving Stolen Property – Felony
  • Unlawful possession of firearms (machine gun)

Sheriff Brown would like to encourage citizens to contact the Crime Suppression Team with any complaints of drug activity that you may suspect. All complaints will remain anonymous and will be investigated thoroughly.
