Celebrate Read Across America Day with a Literacy Luau on March 2

Come celebrate Read Across America Day at the Bulloch County Literacy Council’s Literacy Luau on March 2, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Bulloch Solutions, located at 841 Buckhead Drive, in Statesboro.

It’s fun for the whole family with free games, prizes, refreshments, and of course books! There will be exhibits by several community organizations who are actively working to improve literacy in Bulloch County.Stop by their booths to learn tips about how parents, childcare professionals, and volunteers can help make our community more literacy rich. Also, learn how you can create a reading nook for kids in your home or business.

The Literacy Council will also announce the winners of its 3rd Annual Kid’s Reading Nook Photo Contest. If you have not entered or voted in the contest, do so now online.

We look forward to your family joining us on March 2, as we lift up literacy. 

The Bulloch County Literacy Council is a community collaborative of educators, literacy advocates and organizations, business and civic organization leaders, and community volunteers. Its purpose is to sustain a community collaborative that works to increase Kindergarten readiness for students from birth through Pre-Kindergarten and to support the improvement of literacy levels for all children in Kindergarten through fifth grade. Reading: Encourage the creation of Reading nooks; 
Environment: Encourage a literacy-rich Environment; 
Access: Increase Access to book and reading resources; and
