State Board of Education to hold public hearing for 12th District

The State Board of Education will hold a public hearing for citizens in the 12th Congressional District on Monday, May 24, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Emanuel County Board of Education, located at 201 North Main Street, in Swainsboro.

The purpose of the hearing is to hear comments and feedback from interested citizens and educators within the congressional district regarding K-12 public education. Those wishing to speak should sign in upon arrival. For more information, please contact this email.

The public hearing will be hosted by Matt Donaldson, of Twin City, who is the new State Board of Education representative for the 12th District. Donaldson was appointed to the State Board of Education by Governor Brian Kemp, and sworn into office on January 12, 2021.

The 12th Congressional District includes Appling, Bulloch, Burke, Candler, Coffee, Emanuel, Evans, Jeff Davis, Jenkins, Laurens, Montgomery, Richmond, Screven, Tattnall, Toombs, Treutlen, and Wheeler counties along with portions of Columbia and Effingham counties.
