District Attorney Robert Busbee Passes Away

The District Attorney for the Ogeechee Circuit passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, the office confirmed Friday.

District Attorney Robert Busbee died Friday in Bulloch County. He was 44-years-old.

The office will be closed for the remainder of the day, according to a post made on social media just before 11:30 a.m.

Busbee was elected in 2024 and took office in January 2025. He leaves behind his wife, Erika, three sons, and a large extended family.

The Ogeechee Judicial Circuit includes Bulloch, Effingham, Jenkins, and Screven counties.
