Extended power outage causes early dismissal at Statesboro High School

Statesboro High School will dismiss early on Friday, April 12, due to unforeseen power outages that will involve extensive maintenance and require power to be completely cut off at the school.

The school district has communicated with parents by phone, email and text messages through the school’s and district’s electronic messaging system, social media and websites.

An early bus route will run for the school. Car riders will be dismissed at 12:05 p.m., and parents are asked to pick up their children early.

Students were offered meal service for lunch and provided time to eat before dismissal. The school administration made every effort to limit disruptions during the morning so that instruction could continue.
