Mr. Jackson Edward (Buddy) Brinson

Mr. Jackson Edward (Buddy) Brinson, age 73, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024. He was born in Swainsboro, Georgia on August 22, 1950 to Horace and Retta White Brinson. At a young age his family moved to Bulloch County where he remained until his death.

Buddy was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and taught Sunday school for many years. He dearly loved to serve the Lord and also loved his family and his church family. In Buddy’s free time he enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, spending time in the library and at a variety of bookstores with his grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents and a brother-in-law, William Harron.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Madge. He is also survived by his only daughter, Dena Waters (Gerald Waters Jr., son-in-law) and grandsons, Derek Waters and Justin waters, whom he treasured; his siblings, Margie Oglesby of Statesboro; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gary and Kay Harron of Statesboro and Theresa and Lonnie Sikes of Springfield; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Last but not least Buddy is survived by his dog, Lulu.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro, Georgia. The service will be held in the chapel immediately following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Green officiating.

Interment will be at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Gary Harron, Derek Waters, Justin Waters, Tony Sikes, Jason Deal, Shane Mixon, and Lonnie Sikes.
