Michael Thomas Honyoust, 74, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023 at Candler County Hospital in Metter, GA. He was the widower of Barbara Honyoust. They shared 5 years of marriage together. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of Charles W. Honyoust and Gladys H. Honyoust. He was a graduate of Cato-Meridian High School in Cato, NY. Michael’s largest contribution in life was his selfless advocacy and dedication to Alcoholics Anonymous. With over 45 years of sobriety, Michael was a guiding light to those struggling to achieve and maintain sobriety. The number of lives he changed were countless. He is survived by daughters, Heather H. Tuggle and husband Wayne, of Greensboro, NC, and Kaitlyn Lightfoot and husband Colin, of Baltimore, MD. Grandsons Trey Tuggle (19) and Macklin Lightfoot (4), and granddaughters Annadele Tuggle (19), Reilynn (6) and Brooklynn Lightfoot (4). To honor Michael’s wishes, no formal service or visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation.
