Mrs. Mary Anne Elizabeth Corley Dickey

Mary Anne Elizabeth Dickey, 72 of Sylvania, passed Saturday afternoon at the Pineview Health and Rehabilitation Center under Regency Hospice. She was born at home to John Cleveland, Sr. and Mary Avis Turner Corley on January 13, 1951 in Grady County. On February 2, 1974, she wed the love of her life, and they began their union residing in Johnson County, Jenkins County, and in 1981, they made Screven County their home. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Waynesboro and was a retired seamstress by trade. She enjoyed tending her garden, flower beds, and her birds, but her greatest love was time spent with her children and grands. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Janice Simpson, Connie Belle Corley, and Minnie Smith, brothers, Daniel Corley, Elzie Corley, and John Cleveland Corley, Jr., sister-in-law, Martha Lee Copeland, and brothers-in-law, Matthew Albert Dickey, Jimmy Benjamin Dickey, and Jerry Alton Dickey. She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Neil Dickey of Sylvania; a son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Hannah Matthew of Smyrna, TN; a daughter, Shannon Whitehead of Rocky Ford, GA; two grandchildren, Morgan Bratton of Rocky Ford, and Elliot Matthew of Smyrna; sister, Margaret (Gene) Harrell of Whigham, GA; brothers, John (Brenda) Corley of Cairo, GA and David (Joyce) Corley of Madisonville, TN, and Austin (Janet) Corley of Lakeland, FL; brothers-in-law, Eric (Elaine) Dickey of Lubbock, TX and Eddie (Deane) Dickey of Millington, TN; and many nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.. A memorial service will be held at the Screven Chapel of Joiner Anderson Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10:00am. The family will receive friends following the service at the American Legion/ VFW Post, 112 Community Dr. Sylvania, GA 30467.
