The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is investigating after a shooting left one person dead and another injured.
Deputies were called out to the Parkers on Old Augusta Road just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday where they found a male with a gunshot wound to the head and another person with a gunshot wound.
The male victim was pronounced dead on the scene and the other victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
It is not known exactly where the shooting took place, but if anyone was in the area of the Parkers on Old Augusta Road, Port Wentworth or Rincon between 2 a.m. – 3 a.m. Sunday, please give the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office a call at 912.754.3449.
This investigation is ongoing.

ECSO Investigators and Pt. Wentworth Police have determined that the shooting from earlier this morning happened in Pt. Wentworth.
