Beginning on Saturday, April 3, 2021, Glynn County Recreation and Parks will begin daylight hours sand bar patrols during high tides from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm and on Sunday April 4, 2021 from 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
These patrols are a safety precaution to prevent beachgoers on East Beach from becoming stranded on sand bars during high tides. Sandbar patrols will also be active on the following dates:
- April 3, 2021 – 11:30am-4:00pm
- April 4, 2021 – 12:30pm-5:00pm
- April 17, 2021 – 10:30am-3:00pm
- April 18, 2021 – 11:00am-3:30pm
- May 1, 2021 – 10:30am-3:00pm
- May 2, 2021 – 11:00am-3:30pm
- May 16, 2021 – 10:30am-2:30pm
- May 22, 2021 – 2:00pm-6:30pm
Lifeguards will be on duty during the seasons with the peak season beginning Memorial Day weekend May 28, 2021.
