The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Foundation raised more than $700,000 at its inaugural Pathways to Graduation Gala, bringing together business, education, and community leaders in support of students across Georgia’s 22 technical colleges. Held at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, the inaugural gala celebrated the life-changing impact of technical education while raising funds to help students overcome financial barriers that can stand between them and graduation.
“The success of this inaugural gala is a testament to the incredible support our students have from partners across Georgia,” said TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier. “For so many of our students, even a relatively small financial obstacle can be the difference between stopping out and crossing the graduation stage. The generosity shown through Pathways to Graduation will help more students stay on track, earn a credential, and begin a career that can change the trajectory of their lives and their families.”
Proceeds from the gala will support the TCSG Foundation’s efforts to provide scholarships and other critical assistance to students throughout the Technical College System of Georgia.
“The response to our first Pathways to Graduation Gala exceeded our expectations and demonstrated just how strongly Georgia’s business and community leaders believe in our students,” said Gary Sanchez, President of the TCSG Foundation Board of Trustees. “Every dollar raised represents an investment in a student who is working toward a better future. We are grateful to our sponsors, donors, partners, and everyone who helped make this inaugural event such a tremendous success.”
The evening also included the announcement of the Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier Public Safety Endowment Scholarship, established in honor of Commissioner Dozier and his leadership and service to the Technical College System of Georgia.
The new endowed scholarship will provide lasting support for TCSG students pursuing education and training for careers in public safety. By establishing an endowment, the scholarship will create an enduring source of financial assistance for future generations of students preparing to serve and protect communities throughout Georgia.
The Pathways to Graduation Gala reflects the TCSG Foundation’s mission to support students and strengthen Georgia’s workforce by expanding access to technical education. Through scholarships, emergency assistance, and other student-focused initiatives, the Foundation works to ensure financial circumstances do not prevent students from completing their education and entering high-demand careers.
