Comcast Internet has expanded into five Georgia counties in southeast Georgia.
Comcast recently connected nearly 6,700 new homes and businesses in Mt. Vernon, Wrightsville, Soperton, Adrian, Glenwood, and Alamo, GA. The company says the expansion into the region will “enhance digital infrastructure, promote economic growth, and position residents and local businesses for success in an increasingly digital world.”
The network expansion brings Internet, mobile, and security services from Xfinity and Comcast Business to residents and businesses for the first time.
“As the Mayor of Soperton, I am thrilled with Comcast’s expansion into our community and the introduction of new products that will greatly benefit our residents and businesses. This partnership represents a significant step forward in enhancing our local infrastructure, providing high-speed Internet access, and empowering our citizens with the tools they need to thrive in today’s digital world,” said Mayor John Koon of Soperton. “This much-needed expansion into our market clearly demonstrates that Comcast is committed to being a true partner in our community. We look forward to the positive impact this will have on our economy and the quality of life for all Soperton residents.”
Comcast’s most recent expansion to the cities of Southeast, GA is part of the company’s latest investment in Georgia, which also includes expansions to Lincolnton, Washington, Monticello, Mansfield and the Town of Newborn.
“We are thrilled to extend our network to Mt. Vernon, Wrightsville, Soperton, Adrian, Glenwood, and Alamo, providing residents and businesses with the digital connectivity they need to thrive in today’s technology-driven world,” said Mike McArdle, Regional Senior Vice President. “We appreciate the support of the local communities and are excited to deliver cutting-edge technology to these areas.”
