Pre-K students from Smiles, Giggles, and Hugs Child Development Center visited the Medical Assisting Program at Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) for some fun lessons on basic medical care.

“The kids had such a great time at OTC,” said Christie Rowell, Pre-K teacher at Smiles, Giggles, and Hugs. “They have been talking nonstop about all of the things that they got to do while they were there.”

The young visitors had the opportunity to wear PPE, apply medical care to stuffed animals, take blood pressure, and practice apply gauze and bandages.

“It’s always such a lively day in our classrooms when the Pre-K students get a chance to visit. It gives our OTC students an opportunity to share their passion for healthcare with the generation that will follow them,” said Michelle Odom, Medical Assisting program director.
