Candidate Spotlight: Chuck Francis – Bulloch County Coroner

Francis is running in the Republican primary for county coroner. He is unopposed on May 21, but will face the winner of the Democratic primary (Lovett or Tremble) in the November election.

Can you allocate the time to attend and actively participate in all required meetings and additional functions? Yes

Political Experience: None

Civic Involvement: Deputy Coroner and First responder

If you have yet to gain prior political experience or involvement, give your reasons for seeking this position and your qualifications for office: I have been a deputy coroner around 20 years. I love the duties and responsibilities of the office. I feel that my experience as a paramedic and nurse as well as Deputy Coroner, with the associated training and education, have prepared me to confidently and compassionately care for the citizens of Bulloch County in what is probably one of the worst days of their life.

How would you best explain the duties of the office you seek? This office is responsible for determining the cause and manor or all unattended deaths in Bulloch County.

How can you best contribute to our county and the citizens you serve? I have a vested interest in this county. I was born and raised here. I have served the citizens of Bulloch County as a volunteer fire fighter, Nurse, Paramedic and Deputy coroner since 1991. . I feel that my experience would serve the citizens of Bulloch well.

Are you willing to speak and communicate with the citizens that you serve? Yes

What are your biggest concerns for the County and the citizens you are running to represent? That the citizens of Bulloch County are represented by a qualified, caring, competent, and compassionate Coroner.

What changes or improvements would you like to see made in Bulloch County? N/A

What would you like to see continue in Bulloch County? I would like to see continues expansion of public service, especially, Emergency medical services to the rural areas to provide shorter response times to those citizens experiencing medical emergencies.

How would you balance the interests of the taxpayers with the needs of the citizens? N/A
