The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office has released additional information on the arrest of a former Statesboro City Councilman and others earlier this week.
According to BCSO, the Crime Suppression Team began an investigation on August 11, 2023 in an attempt to recover a stolen firearm. The agency says it learned during the investigation that Kevin Lewis, a convicted felon, facilitated the sale of the stolen Glock pistol in exchange for cash and an AR-15 rifle.
“Through further investigation, a search warrant was obtained for Lewis’ residence located on Morris Street in Statesboro where Lewis lives with his father, Gary Lewis who is also a convicted felon,” the agency said. During the execution of the search warrant, Gary Lewis and Brenda Reddick were located inside the residence where a revolver, shotgun, marijuana, and hydrocodone were located.

All three were taken to the Bulloch County jail, however, as of Thursday morning, only Kevin Lewis remained in the jail awaiting further court proceedings, which includes hearings for bond.
