East Georgia Regional Medical Center and Cigna Sign Agreement

East Georgia Regional Medical Center (EGRMC) and Cigna have reached a new multi-year agreement.

The new agreement helps to ensure that area residents with Cigna insurance have access to healthcare services from East Georgia Regional Medical Center and its employed physicians and specialists at in-network rates. The agreement goes into effect on August 1, 2026.

“We are pleased to reach a resolution that benefits our patients with Cigna insurance,” said Stephen Pennington, Chief Executive Officer at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. “This new agreement helps patients access the health care services they need close to home. We remain committed to investing in our services and advancing the quality of care we provide for our patients, families, and community.”

Cigna patients are receiving notifications of the new agreement through e-mail and mailed letters from EGRMC. Patients whose appointments or procedures were postponed while EGRMC and Cigna were negotiating a new agreement should contact their provider’s office to reschedule or visit https://www.eastgeorgiamedsurgassociates.com/all-appointments to make an appointment today.

Patients with coverage or plan specific questions are encouraged to contact Cigna using the customer service number on the back of their insurance card.
