Mr. Glen Edgar Holt

Glen Edgar Holt, age 87, of Metter, Georgia passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Glen was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on January 23, 1936. He graduated from Williamson High School in West Virginia and soon after, he met the love of his life, Peggy Crowe. Following a 90-day whirlwind romance they were married and their union lasted almost 65 years. With the help of his wife, Glen built three successful businesses from Ohio to Tampa and finally Statesboro, Georgia where he became an avid GSU fan. He retired in 2000 to devote himself to Grace community Church serving as custodian and honorary grandparent to countless children in the church. He greeted everyone on Sundays with a warm smile. He was a benefactor to many who were in need. His children grew up watching his generous nature in action. He was the master of many selfless, anonymous acts. Glen was one of the most humble people you could ever know. He was a jokester to many and a first class donut deliverer to others. The world has lost one of the great givers. To those who knew him, he is irreplaceable and will be missed greatly. He was preceded by his wife of 65 years Peggy Anne Holt. Glen is survived by his son, Michael Holt and his wife Amy, his daughter, Paula Long and her husband Lawrence, his sister-in-law, Kim Hooks and her husband Mike, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Saturday from 9:00am until 11:00am at Grace Community Church on Pulaski Rd. The funeral will follow at 11:00am. Interment will be at Bulloch Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Community Church 4703 Pulaski Road Statesboro, Georgia 30458.
