Statesboro, GA Michael Irvin Moore departed this life on January 1st, 2024 at his home. He was born November 4th 1950 to the late Jesse and Luetta Leverette Moore. Michael spent his youth and teenage years working alongside his father Jesse in the brick masonry business, as well as a Water Safety Instructor at the Blitch Street Recreation Department alongside his mother Luetta. He was an excellent student and member of the William James Class of 1968. After graduation, he attended Savannah State University for several years, before returning home to work again alongside his father in the brick masonry field. He was preceded in death, by his parents Jesse and Luetta Moore, siblings JoAnn Pointer, Bernard Moore, and Kenneth Moore. He leaves to his cherished memory his wife Wilmatine (Huff) Moore; son Eric Lamont (Catrina) Elliott; daughter, Leslie Michelle Moore; son Sidney Allen Moore; grandchildren Eric Michael, Jaya Ann, Savannah Victoria, and Zachariah Christopher Elliott. He also leaves behind brother Cornell (Wenda) Moore; two sisters, Joyce Moore and Marcia Helen Moore, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a host of friends that he loved, and were as close to him as his siblings. A memorial service in his honor will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home, 502 Miller Street Extension, Statesboro, GA 30458.
