4th Wave of Multi-agency Crime Suppression Continues to be Successful

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) completed the fourth wave of the multi-agency crime suppression and street racing enforcement detail this past weekend on May 22-23. 

This enforcement detail was a collaborative effort between the Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Department of Natural Resources, Atlanta Police Department, and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department. 

Colonel Chris Wright, DPS Commissioner, stated “these four waves of enforcement have proven when law enforcement works together effectively, the result is a safer community for the citizens and visitors of Atlanta.”  He went on to say, “DPS appreciates the leadership, direction, and support of Governor Brian Kemp.” 

The following is a list of the enforcement activity from DPS and the Atlanta Police Department:

  • Vehicle stops – 691
  • DUIs – 21
  • Reckless Driving – 15
  • Citations/Arrests – 612
  • Warnings –384
  • Pursuits – 22
  • Wanted Persons – 8
  • Stolen Guns – 2
  • Impounded Vehicles – 37
  • Drug Arrests – 4
