Week One

Legislative Days 1-4
It is hard to believe that we arrived in Atlanta, just over a week ago, for the beginning of the 2021 legislative session. Returning to the Capitol is always a humble reminder of the fact that you have entrusted me to make the best decisions on behalf of our home and surrounding communities. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your voice under the Gold Dome. Thank you for the support you have graciously shown me along this journey. I will continue to do my very best in representing our district’s values!

Monday, January 11th, marked the first day of the 2021 Legislative Session. The first order of business was for all elected members to be sworn into office. Soon after we began preparation for the legislative days ahead. Issues such as election law, healthcare access, education, and public safety initiatives will be up for debate. Over the remaining days, we will be introducing and discussing new bills that may become law, which is why it is important we come together to communicate, listen, and strive to better our great state.

Over the course of the last week, we settled in, awaited our respective committee assignments, listened to Governor Kemp’s agenda for the upcoming year and prepared for upcoming budget hearings which begin this week. All in all, it was a productive four days on Capitol Hill.
