Taste of Downtown This Friday

The Downtown Statesboro Development Authority will host their annual Wells Fargo Advisors  Taste of Downtown First Friday Event on September 10th from 5:30-8 pm in Downtown Statesboro. This event will highlight Statesboro’s favorite restaurants inside local downtown businesses, and feature live music and entertainment.

The Wells Fargo Advisors 2021 Taste of Downtown will be a public event open to all ages and will include an appetizer sampling scavenger hunt where attendees can taste food from over 25 of Statesboro’s best restaurants, all while shopping at our finest, local businesses within walking distance of the Bulloch County Courthouse.

Tickets and wristbands will be available for purchase the night of the event, September 10th by cash only from 5:00-7:00 pm. A location map will be included with this purchase. The wristbands will be sold for $10.00 each at the “First Friday” tent on the Courthouse lawn. Tickets cannot be purchased in advance.

The Wells Fargo Advisors Taste of  Downtown will feature a variety of live music and entertainment. Ashanti Floyd, better known as The Mad Violinist, will be performing at Divvy Desk.  Brandi Harvey will be performing on the courthouse steps,  Dan Larkin at Vandy’s, Juliette Muldrew on West Main by Bull & Barrel, Chris Lee inside of Southern Pottery, Daffani Eason at the Georgia Southern BIG Alley and at 8pm enjoy live music at Eagle Creek Brewing Co. Dylan Bragg and Miles Willis.

All of the participating downtown restaurants and shops will be open late and there will be vendors on the Courthouse lawn. The public can come take a shot at dunking Pastor Scott Hagan from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. with Eastyn Durrence cheering along, as a part of their Dancing with the Statesboro Stars fun.

The Business Innovation Group’s Fabrication Lab will be hosting makers, entrepreneurs, and artists from BIG, Georgia Southern University, and the Statesboro community to display their wares and share their creations, including custom woodwork, signage, and a blacksmithing demonstration in the brick alleyway at 62 East Main. In addition, community members can learn more about the fruits, vegetables, and herbs that grow along the Living Wall year-round and taste a sample of muscadine grapes.
